New study shows huge increase in complaints to CFPB about Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion (among others)

Posted by Brett D. Sherman | Mar 11, 2021

A press release issued on March 1, linked here, summarized a study that analyzed complaints to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Simply stated, there were a record number of complaints from consumers to the CFPB in 2020.

From the study, the full text of which is linked here:

"More than half of total complaints to the CFPB were grievances against the Big 3 credit reporting agencies; the firms Experian, TransUnion and Equifax, in that order, led complaints against all companies. Overall, the number of complaints about credit reporting doubled in 2020, demonstrating what a headache this industry causes for Americans."
