The moment you realize that there is an error on your credit report or that your identity has been stolen is like a punch in the stomach. You have worked hard to build up a credit report and a consumer reputation, and in one moment, it can seem to be ruined.

The good news is that this is not an impossible situation to fix, but it is a complex one. That is why it is not advisable to trust a credit “repair” shop, who takes your money and does the bare minimum.

This is what inspired Sherman & Ticchio to create a law practice that was different: one that puts the client's interests above all else, and works tirelessly to get results. Brett Sherman and James Ticchio, with over 25 years of combined experience, specialize in litigating and fixing credit report errors, background check report errors, and identity theft.

James Ticchio is an advocate for the rights of consumers. He focuses his practice on claims arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. James attended Georgetown University Law Center, where he earned his Juris Doctorate. He also earned his B.A summa cum laude in his studies of the legal field at Ramapo College of New Jersey. James was selected for membership in the Ramapo Journal of Law and Society, where his work regarding campaign finance reform was published. He continued his editorial pursuits at the Georgetown Journal of Law and Public Policy, with a keen interest in studying the excesses of corporate power. James has spent his educational career obtaining a background in fields including corporate law, tax law, accounting, and finance to provide the most wholistic and effective legal counsel to his clients. While attending Georgetown Law, James participated in a clinic to advise non-profits regarding their compliance with regulations in the field of food law. The credit reporting system in America can be complex and deceptive, and so James makes a point of providing clients with a simple, easy to follow path through the course of their dealings with the credit reporting system.
